THE COACH
CB's students will tell you that he doesn't just instruct - he educates, motivates and inspires. As such, CB has built a strong, loyal, repeat client base.
Carleton's keen eye for detail coupled with his vast show ring and training experience makes him able to quickly and easily suggest changes that bring out the best in both horse and rider. His sense of humor and unique communication style gets right to the heart of the matter, often assisting riders to achieve and surpass their goals.
CB also excels as a ground man and is often sought after by other trainers to provide an experienced eye and outside input at horse shows.
THE JUDGE
CB is a respected 'R' judge and has officiated at a list of the most prestigious shows, including: The Devon Horse Show and County Fair, The Kentucky National Horse Show, The Washington International Horse Show, The Pennsylvania National Horse Show, UHSJA Hunter Derby Finals and many others.
THE AUTHOR
In their first book Carleton and Traci share their decades of knowledge, expertise, and winning ways in their first book, With Purpose: The Balmoral Standard. THE ClINICIAN
CB is a sought after clinician. He conducts clinics for fellow professionals, industry associations and other private groups. CB has a great presence and poses his suggestions in an easy to understand way that immediately helps the student progress as well as the audience to grasp everything from the simple to complex aspects of riding.
He is also a very entertaining clinician, with a great sense of humor. Never a dull moment!
The Trainer
Known for his out-of-the-box training aids, CB credits his quest to communicate with the horse to many great horse trainers.
CB has been instrumental in the selection, development and successes of numerous show hunters and is credited for the many national championships and accolades for famous horses such as Doubletake, Trinty, Vested, Play with Fire, Calvin, Inspired, Corporate Profit, Center Stage and Buccelatti to name a few. He is a four time recipient of the Pacific Coast Horse Shows Association (PCHA) Don Tipton Award, presented to the professional or amateur who wins the most championships and reserve championships in a rated division for the competition year. He was inducted into the National Show Hunter Fall of Fame in 2019 and in 2021 he was honored with a USHJA Lifetime Achievement Award.
CB has trained six recipients of the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) Horse of the Year Award (HOTY) and his mounts have earned 17 championships and three reserve championships at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show, the Washington International Horse Show and the National Horse Show.
